Water ripples, flows outward
Harvesting roses
Instruments echo
Funny figures bring smiles
Resonant rhythms
Coolly looking back
Hiding deep beauty inside
Her fiery eyes
Music and magic
A brightness understated
Illumining now
Wolf of the wild
Has love worth all the winter
Of fire and flame
Spirit unbroken
An angel, true and kindly
Good, godly, golden
All told, undefined
Circling around a shadow
Catching at the wind
Surviving it all
Pours out with sincerity
Never go extinct
Water's in the lake
Sun setting on horizon
Owl in the tree
Colors exquisite
Fire dark and firelight
The art in her hands
Always felt bonded
To you, friend unforgotten
And still, I miss you
Best friend, brilliant mind
Hope you learn how worthwhile
You are in this world
A dragon, father
To a child, dependent
On fire he breathes
Amethyst artist
Light filters as she wanders
A cat on the move
A distant chuckle
Always saying more than said
Listens so quiet
A dream, a whisper
Buzzing beneath the surface
Calming to be heard
Mysterious notes
To a song of the secrets
Now known and unknown
A cheerful smile
Seeking smiles reflected
And more connection
Twisted and ashen
Silvery like stars, like smoke
Waiting by the shore
A hero, to me
Who deserves more than gotten
And ought to feel loved
The ocean recedes
Disappears, then sudden surge
Once more, falls away
Two wings, unfolded
Angels rise and angels fall
Some ascend again
Memories melting
Up and down and always with
Industrious art
Underneath the veil
Something lovely seems to be
On the edge of sight
Cat of the clockwork
On a quest as yet unset
Dog of the bitten
Happy Holidays, everyone!!! This collection of haikus is my early Christmas present to the people who mean the most to me on this site. The present, you see, is wrapped in words; each haiku is written for a specific person, and it's up to them to figure out which is theirs~
Some will be more obvious than others. Some will be a bit more tricky. Some people may never even receive their gift, since a lot of these people are barely on DA anymore and some of the ones who are don't seem to read my poems. And yes, there's a fairly specific way I organized the haikus, but I don't think anyone will figure it out...
By the way, this whole project was inspired by ~SurvivingExtinction and ~Kalyn-anime-lover, two friends of mine who recently made journal entries that celebrated the people they care about. In case you're wondering, both of them got a haiku, though I'm not sure both of them will read it.
Anyway, thank you to everyone and Happy Holidays once again!!!
EDIT 12/23/13: After thinking about it some more, I've realized that it would be better to list the names of people who got haikus, so that there's an easier chance of them getting their presents and knowing for sure that one was made for them. Hopefully it'll pop up as a "mention" in their inbox...anyway, here's a list of the people in alphabetical order, aside from the two that I already mentioned: ~AcidicCook, *angelenroute, ~AshesTwisted, ~Basscelloman, ~Contradictory55, ~ExquisiteColors, ~ForeverElevated, ~Isaiah2696, ~Kinglorshi, ~kittykatglasher, ~KronoDelanio, ~MeltDownIndustries, ~MGS428, ~Miamelly, ~MusicaMagica, =Renkidu, ~SolaceinSubconscious, ~TaniAkari, ~TPak16, ~WaffleGamer, ~Waterstride-Sunrise, and ~Zevais. There's also DOGBITES, but when I type out the name the way I'm supposed to, it keeps linking to a different user with a similar name. So DOGBITES has the special honor of being told directly~
Keep in mind that the haikus are NOT arranged in alphabetical order. If you want your present, you'll still have to look for it~ ^_^
Man you're awesome
