Literature Text

I wrote a note the other day,
And with it shared my feelings.
I've tried to have it other ways,
But they seem to be congealing.

I loved the stars when I was young;
The first word of mine was "light".
Of happy thoughts, I once had none,
But now the world's more bright.

I feel too much frustration,
I need to be more calm.
I drown in hesitation,
Too scared to sing my song.

I never was the kind of child
I wish I could have been.
At times I've been more meek and mild,
But later I learned to sin.

I wonder, sometimes, whose life I'm living,
Whose soul endows this frame.
I blunder, sometimes, when what they give me
Doesn't match my name.

For those who feel unlike the rest,
The world may bring despair.
For those who think they know what's best,
The world may not compare.

To be alive is both gift and curse,
But most of all a chance.
To do what seems more good than worse,
And do what others can't.

For all are different, and all are same,
And all are tied together.
Even as they break and blame,
There are always notes and letters.

So write what you feel and send it out,
Don't hold it here alone.
How else to overcome your doubts,
If you never try to know?
It's very, very late, but this is my next entry for Starlight Delirium, my "prompt romp" with ~Product-of-Delirium!

The prompt this time was "A note we wrote the other day". My poem ended up being strangely similar to "Starlight Shoals" in some ways, my self-titled poem from a looooong time ago. It also switches focus halfway through, from myself to a more generalized philosophical proclamation. Oh well, at least I finally got it written...

I hope you like it! :)
